Tested by time, raced with experience – The best of Mercedes-Benz in 95 years.

Das Beste oder Nichts – or in English term “The best or nothing”. Gottlieb Daimler coined this mission statement that started one of the best-renowned automobile brands to present – the 95-year old Brand Mercedes-Benz.

Founded in 1926 by automobile pioneers Carl Benz, who invented the first gasoline-powered automobile and Gottlieb Daimler after a joint venture of Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG) and Benz & Cie, which led to a complete merger forming Daimler-Benz AG. Bearing its three-pointed star logo that symbolizes the land, air, and sea, the company unveiled its first Mercedes-Benz passenger car in the 1926 Berlin Motor Show. A successive production of 7,000 cars was followed.

Headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, Mercedes-Benz produces series of luxury hatchbacks, sedans, pick-up trucks, minivans, 4-door coupes, SUVs and station wagons classified into subcompact, compact, full-size and mid-size; they also produce grand tourers, roadsters, sports cars and sedans; inline to innovation and technology is the production of their luxury electric vehicles.

The legacy of Mercedes-Benz

With its endearing legacy of luxury, innovation and superior design, famous personalities wouldn’t mind spending thousands of dollars to have one in their possession. Highest paid athlete and car enthusiast Floyd Mayweather and comedian Eddie Murphy owned a Mercedes-Benz SLS; Sylvester Stallone drives a Mercedes-Benz G550; Elvis Presley, John Lennon, Hugh Hefner, Coco Chanel, and Elizabeth Taylor are just among celebrities that owned a Mercedes-Benz 600. The Pope is also using a Mercedes-Benz M-Class SUV.

They are intricately designed, altered to perfection. Mercedes Benz “one man, one engine” philosophy lets a highly-qualified technician supervise a single-car. It goes through thousands of inspections during the manufacturing process to ensure no fault in the assembly. This makes an MB worthy of its price.

As the company puts more effort into luxury, innovation and design, more innovative and sustainable outputs are in line. Mercedes-Benz plans to commit to CO₂ neutrality that would transition its combustion engines into an electric drive system. An extensive plug-in hybrid will also be expanded.

Patent – number 37435, on January 29 1886, Carl Benz applied for a patent for his “vehicle powered by a gas engine.”

The company has also set costumer’s growth and comfort to their list of priorities by implementing its CASE strategy – Connected, Autonomous, Shared & Services and Electric – a more flexible and digitized feature that would benefit costumers.

With Mercedes-Benz finally reaching its century’s old, the legend of its mission lives to this day. With many brands vying to race on top, Mercedes-Benz is smooth in its sails (and sales) to being the world’s best in automobiles.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class became the best-selling luxury vehicle in 2015 when a total of 364, 668 units were sold, and it made a 22% jump in sales for the company. Priced at $43,800, the car can throttle to 503-horsepower.

Mercedes-Benz has such heritage and history in the racing world that led the Brand high up the podium in racing for decades. Known as the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One, and nicknamed “Silver Arrows”, it still smashes records up to date. “Silver Arrows” started their success in F1 back in 1934 in the unprecedented string of success in racing history. One of these is the youngest World Champion’s success in Formula One’s history in 2008, 7-time champion Lewis Hamilton, who also agreed to renew his contract with Mercedes this year after winning the 2020 FIA Formula One World Championship with the company. Going head to head in the title of being the greatest of all time is also a 7-time champion, Michael Schumacher, who started with the team in 1990.

Talking about legends that raced for Mercedes is a man known as one of the legends of the racing world, “icon of the motor racing world”, ‘Mr. Motor Racing’ to name but few, Sir Stirling Moss. He was one of the greatest Mercedes-Benz’s driver, holding the record of the best time in the Mille Miglia in 10 hours, 7 minutes and 48 seconds for 1,000 miles using Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR back in 1955.

Mercedes-Benz Philosophy

“You don’t search for functions, they will find you” Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Mercedes-Benz AG, Ola Källenius, said in the world premiere of the introduction of its biggest screen ever mounted in a Mercedes-Benz car, the MBUX Hyperscreen. 2 of its upcoming cars, 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Sedan and Mercedes-Maybach S-Class will feature this screen.

Seamless, digital and intuitive, Mercedes-Benz sets the bar as 5 of its concept cars this 2021 will be an all-electric car.

The F 015 Luxury in Motion is a self-driving car in a Smart Body Structure where customers have the option to drive or not drive at all. Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Coupe and Mercedes-Benz Vision EQS are two luxurious electric cars that could run approximately 62mph in 4.5 seconds.

The glamorous Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet Concept is an open-air revelation that could run 60 miles in just five minutes of charging. And the concept of a Formula 1 vehicle, the all-new Mercedes-AMG ONE that could deliver an impressive 1000 horsepower, could be road-ready for the first time.
