First UAE-made electric car

Businesswoman and chairwoman of United Arab Emirates (UAE) based M Glory Holding Group Dr. Majida Al Azazi is all set for the arrival of the first UAE-made electric car, the Al Damani DMV300.

The Al Damani DMV 300 will be the first electric car ever made in the region and it was made possible by Dr. Majida Al Azazi. Since the construction of the first industrial facility for the manufacture of electric vehicles (EV) in Dubai Industrial City is still underway, the car will be built at a temporary factory not far from the main one.

Part of the expansion plans of M Glory Holding Group is the construction of the facility that will sit on a total land area of 1 million sq ft. This will also generate more than 1,000 jobs. The facility will also include robotics engineering, artificial intelligence, and sustainable real estate. By employing future technologies and robotics in the manufacture of electric vehicles (EVs), the company may benefit from the Fourth Industrial Revolution and sustainability.

The woman behind DMV300

Dr. Majida Al Azazi is the first Emirati to hold an applied doctorate in supply chain management and industries from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) university. After her studies at the university, she worked in numerous large successful government factories in the country.

To add up to her experiences and knowledge, she went to France, Britain, the Czech Republic, and Germany. Part of her visit to other countries in the hope of bringing UAE the same achievements that these countries have attained.

In 2004, she became a businesswoman and worked on different projects before entering the automobile industry. She also traveled to several car manufacturing countries. Her hard work and passion led her to the establishment of an automobile factory – Sandstorm Motor Vehicle Manufacturing. She is now named the first Arab woman to establish a car factory in the Middle East.

DMV300’s electric power

While the Al Damani DMV300 is underway, it will come with two different models. Based on European specifications, it will carry a battery capacity of 52.7 kWh and can run over 405 kilometers on a single charge. The battery of the car can be fully charged in six to eight hours but a quick charge can power the car by 85 percent in 30 minutes. DMV300 can produce a top speed of 160km

“We are working on developing our own charger that can be charged within four hours at home, as well as about 25 percent of the car’s parts from the local market, and soon we will be able to gradually increase this percentage,” the industrial engineer said.

Orders for the said cars have already reached thousands as indicated by Dr. Majida Al Azazi. The temporary factory can produce 10,000 cars annually while the new factory in DIC can produce 50, 000 to 70, 000 cars annually.

Conclusion

Electric vehicles’ contribution to sustainability is exemptional, from enhancing air quality, lowering noise pollution, lowering greenhouse gas emissions, and other more. Dr. Majida Al Azazi’s Al Damani DMV300 is a big lift for sustainability.

Al Damani DMV300 is a stepping stone to electrification and sustainability.
